Situated in the heart of mysterious and fascinating Sultanahmet, Blue House Restaurant is one of the places to visit in Istanbul for delicious Turkish & Ottoman cuisine. Located in a rebuilt Ottoman wooden mansion, it consists of three different parts: Sera Restaurant, Bahce Restaurant & Marmara Terrace Restaurant, serving splendid Turkish food in the opening view of historical center of Sultanahmet.
Sera Restaurant, open in winter and spring time with 80 people capacity is the right place to go for selection of finest Turkish dishes. Certain days of the week are filled with romantic atmosphere of live nostalgic music or traditional turkish feast concerts. Among restaurant’s specialities are Mavi Ev Boregi, Carrot Kofte and Lale kofte. It’s difficult to find place fitting better for the fresh breakfast as well as for the nostalgic dinner in the lights of Blue Mosque
Marmara Terace Restaurant: What distinguishes a good restaurant from a great one? How about a front row seat to the sound and light show over the massive domes of the Blue Mosque? With a show like the one from the rooftop terrace restaurant of the Blue House, the chef doesn’t really have to work too hard to draw a crowd. Yet, the appetizer of mixed mezes is the tastiest and most innovative sampler you’ll eat during your stay in Turkey, consisting of carrot rolls with yogurt, seafood with smoked salmon and shrimp, cold vegetables, and Ottoman spring rolls with cheese and potatoes. Traditional main courses are prepared with a flare, like the juicy lamb chops or the Ottoman-style köfte. There’s also a fresh catch of the day, preferably prepared on the outdoor grill, but leave room for the desserts, as the chef succeeds in creating delectable Turkish favorites without drowning them in honey.
