Boza (a beverage made of fermented millet)

Ingredients
2 kg. bulgur (boiled and pounded wheat)
250 gr. bread yeast
1/2 kg. granulated sugar
Preparation
Boza is the favourite drink of particularly cold winter nights, and is sold by the boza sellers as they walk around the streets. Boza sellers who frighten the children with their deep voices are traditional characters of old Istanbul.

Ayran (Yogurt Drink)

1 pt. low-fat or non-fat yogurt (if you are in Southern California try using “Trader Joe’s non-fat yogurt” found at Trader Joe’s speacialty food stores.)
1 cup cold water,
Salt to taste,
1 cup ice cubes.
